RFID Printer Setup

Each workstation prints RFID tags through an RFID printer service that runs on that same computer, next to the physical printer. Settings on this page apply to the workstation you are using, not to the whole tenant. Every computer keeps its own printer URL and template.

Before you start

• The RFID Printer service must be installed on the same computer you print from. If it is not installed, Settings → Printer offers a download link for your platform.
• The printer’s own connection type (USB or network) is configured inside the service’s settings, not in Holtrack.
• You need access to the Settings page.

Step 1: Point the workstation at its service

1. Open Settings → Printer
2. Check the RFID printer service URL. The default, http://127.0.0.1:9102, is correct when the service runs on the same computer.
3. Click Save
4. Click Test connection. A healthy service reports that the bridge is up and the printer is ready.

If the test fails, confirm the service is running on this computer and that the URL matches the port it listens on.

Step 2: Set RFID power

The read and write power values control how strongly the printer’s RFID module reads and encodes tags, in dBm.

1. Test the connection first. The power fields appear only once the printer reports ready.
2. Adjust Read power and Write power
3. Click Save power

Raise the power if tags fail to encode; lower it if the printer picks up neighbouring tags that are not on the platen.

Step 3: Use a custom label template (optional)

Holtrack ships a default inbound tag layout. To print a different layout, upload your own .dlt file exported from the DL-218 Design software.

The file must define three elements, or printing fails:

epc	RFID	The tag’s EPC, written from the tag’s TID

1. Open Settings → Print template
2. Click Choose file and pick your .dlt file (3 MB maximum)
3. Confirm the dialog once you have checked the file defines the three elements above
4. To go back to the bundled layout, click Reset to default

The uploaded template is stored on this computer only. Other workstations keep using their own template, or the bundled default.

Troubleshooting

“Could not reach the RFID printer service on this computer.” The service is not running, or the URL is wrong. Start the service and re-test the connection.

Printing stops partway through a run. The print sheet pauses on the tag that failed rather than skipping it. Retry that tag, or continue with the rest once the problem is fixed.

The same tag is read twice. A tag that was already printed in this run is rejected. Swap in a fresh tag before continuing.
